Forklift carpet poles, also known as rug rams, are a forklift attachment that are used to transport carpet rolls, pipes, and other coil and roll materials from one area to another. Carpet poles are long, round poles designed to pass through the center of a cylindrical or coiled shape, unlike flat forks, which are intended for use with flat items like pallets and cartons. Carpet poles typically range in length from 108" to 144" in length. Forklifts can move roll material safely and efficiently thanks to quality poles constructed of fatigue-resistant steel.

Traditional fork mounted carpet poles have a pole that is at the same level as the forks and slide straight onto the forks or a forklift. Inverted fork mounted carpet poles have a pole that is 24" lower than the forks by design, allowing the roll material to slide under the forks during loading, preventing damage from accidental contact between the roll and the forks. ​​Carriage mounted forklift carpet poles connect directly to the forklift carriage for the easy transport of roll material.
