What are loading dock seals?

A dock seal is exactly what it sounds like: a seal for your loading dock that helps regulate the temperature of your loading dock. It preserves cool or warm air inside your facility by keeping cold or hot air from outside from flooding your loading bay. You can keep your loading dock at a respectable temperature by managing the quantity of outside air that travels through it, and you won't have to spend thousands of dollars on heating and cooling while your climate control system tries to compensate for a large hole in the side of your building.

Vestil loading dock seals for 8' x 9' and 8' x 8' loading dock doors are available from Gold Key Equipment. Vestil dock seals are made of three pieces: the header (top) is 12" high, the uprights (sides) are beveled and 9.5" wide at the wall and 12" wide at the face. They also have a variety of projections, which allows them to work with a wide range of loading dock designs. Dock seals with 20" projections are required for flush to building docks with edge-o-dock levelers, for example. We recommend adding optional reinforced nylon pleats to cover the dock seal's external surfaces, extending the seal's service life.
